MAP to Towne Center Books!

Towne Center Books is a locally owned general bookstore on Main Street, near the arch in the center of downtown Pleasanton. We believe that a bookstore is the center of the community – the place where ideas are formed and exchanged. You're welcome to come in for a friendly chat about books you’ve enjoyed, our book clubs, or special events. Each month we have a full calendar of book related events, including a guest author at our Read It and Eat luncheon series. Check our Events page for upcoming activities, or sign up for our online newsletter by sending us an e-mail.

We are open 7 days and 6 nights a week, and have plenty of parking behind the store. Your special orders are filled quickly – we place orders every day and receive most titles the following day. We can also gift wrap, mail, or deliver your purchases.

Book club members can get ideas from our staff or the book club display of local book club picks. Let us know what your book club is reading and receive 15% discount on your monthly selection. See our Book Groups page for current listings.

Our free Loyalty program rewards you for shopping at Towne Center Books. Loyalty Club members receive a $10.00 discount after every 10th purchase. We also welcome Book Sense Gift Cards at Towne Center Books.

In addition, we’ll work with you to arrange speakers for your schools and business meetings, and can help with corporate gifts and school purchase orders. We also sponsor class field trips to Towne Center Books.

The store was founded by Kevin and Yvonne Greenlee in 1993 and purchased by Judy Wheeler in 1998. In 1920 the building was a French Laundry, in the 1940’s the American Laundry. We thank you, our loyal customers, for the opportunity to have such an exciting and interesting business.
