Cara Black and Susan Shea

Celebrate Bastille day here at the store with Francophile mystery authors Cara Black and Susan Shea!
We will be celebrating a day early on Friday, July 13th at 11am.

Cara Black will be presenting the newest book in her bestselling Aimée Leduc series: Murder on the Left Bank. In this latest novel, Aimée is presented with a case that will make her confront her father's dubious past as well as the crime syndicate that murdered him.

Susan Shea will be speaking about the second book in her French Village Mystery series: Dressed for Death in Burgundy. After finding herself mixed up in a murder investigation the previous summer, Katherine Goff's life is finally settling down. But just as the locals are finally accepting her into their community, she stumbles across a dead body and her best friend Pippa is the police department's prime suspect. Katherine and Pippa must clear Pippa's name before the real killer gets to them first.

Cara Black is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of 17 books in the Private Investigator Aimée Leduc series, which is set in Paris. Cara has received multiple nominations for the Anthony and Macavity Awards, a Washington Post Book World Book of the Year citation, and the Médaille de la Ville de Paris. Cara was born in Chicago but has lived in California’s Bay Area since she was five years old. Her love of all things French was kindled by the French literature she encountered in high school. Her junior year she wrote Romain Gary a fan letter—which he answered, and which inspired her to make her first trip to Paris, where her idol took her out for coffee and a cigar. Since then, she has been to Paris many, many times. On each visit she entrenches herself in a different part of the city, learning its secret history.

Susan Shea spent more than two decades as a non-profit executive before beginning her critically praised mystery series featuring a professional fundraiser for a fictional museum. In 2017 she debuted the French Village Mystery series with Love & Death in Burgundy. She’s a regular on 7 Criminal Minds blog, is secretary of the national Sisters in Crime board, on the board of the Northern California chapter of Sisters in Crime and is a member of Mystery Writers of America. She lives in Marin County, California.
