Coffee and Conversation with Cristina Alger
Join us on Wednesday, July 18th at 11am with Cristina Alger for Coffee and Conversation as we discuss her page-turning thriller The Banker's Wife.
Inspired by one of the characters in her debut novel The Darlings, Alger revisits the intriguing world of finance but this time with a sinuous, suspenseful novel that follows two women racing for answers after a mysterious plane crash.
When a private plane bound for Geneva drops off the radar during a storm, the wreckage is later uncovered and passenger Matthew Lerner, a banking insider at the powerful offshore bank Swiss United, is presumed dead. His young widow, Annabel, is left grappling with the secrets he left behind, including an encrypted laptop and a shady client list. Meanwhile, ambitious society journalist Marina Tourneau uncovers information that implicates some of the most powerful men in the financial world.
Cristina Alger is the author of The Darlings and This Was Not the Plan. A graduate of Harvard College and NYU Law School, she worked as a financial analyst and a corporate attorney before becoming a writer. Alger has been described as a writer who “has what it takes” (USA Today) and who “knows her way around 21st century wealth and power” (Wall Street Journal). She lives in New York with her husband and children.
