Ann Parker continues her beloved Silver Rush mystery series in her sixth book, A Dying Note. Saloonkeeper Inez Stannert is back, this time relocated from the boomtown of Leadville, Colorado to San Francisco. Inez has turned her talents to managing a music store, hoping to become an equal partner with the store's owner, a renowned local violinist. The discovery of a young musician's body on the banks of San Francisco's Mission Creek canal quickly entangles Inez in the mystery of his death. The dead musician's ties to Leadville threaten to bring Inez's notorious past to light, leaving time short for Inez to solve the mystery before it's too late.
Kelli Stanley's newest book in the Miranda Corbie mystery series is City of Sharks. Private detective Miranda Corbie is preparing to say goodbye to her beloved San Francisco and begin a voyage to a blitzkrieged Britain. But when Louise Crowley visits her office convinced that someone is trying to kill her, Miranda decides to help Louise as her final case in San Francisco. Miranda's search will take her from China Town to Nob Hill, and eventually to Alcatraz, an island city of sharks...
