Ruchika will be talking about her debut novel A Prayer for Travelers, following a young woman, Cale, searching for her missing best friend, Penny, in a dusty town on the California- Nevada border. Forced to confrot the violence that can engulf a life, Cale begins the hunt for her friend with the only clues being Penny's abandoned emergency cash, cellphone, and a smear of blood on the refridgerator. Told in beautifully unique prose, A Prayer for Travelers is a head scratchingly wonderful novel sure to keep readers hooked.
Ruchika Tomar is a writer from the Inland Empire, California. She holds a BA in English Literature from the University of California Irvine and an MFA from Columbia University. She has received fellowships from The Center for Fiction, The MacDowell Colony and Vermont Studio Center. A former Stegner Fellow, she is currently a Jones Lecturer at Stanford University.
